DESCRIPTION: Caused by the asexual generation of a gall wasp these are unmistakable galls despite some variation. The outer surface is covered with bumps and ridges with an overall colour of red, green, yellow and pink. The galls can become noticeably lined although this is not always the case. Each gall can be up to 10mm in diameter and up to 8 may develop on a single leaf. DISTRIBUTION: Infrequent throughout Britain. HABITAT: Found on various varieties of Oak from midsummer onwards.
